The hopper door or drop slot is where and how the cash, checks and payments are deposited into the safe without the need to open the safe door. With a hopper door style drop slot the back of the door closes off when opened to keep any one from reaching in or fishing anything out. The drop slot typically has a anti fishing device or has a long shoot to keep anyone from fishing any item out. The deposited items can then be retreived only when the combination lock is opened.
